Cosmetic Dentistry

You can look good and have a healthy smile. Most people who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth do not realize the numerous ways cosmetic dentistry can heal a smile. Cosmetic dentistry can correct crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, stained or discolored teeth, chipped teeth, broken or missing teeth and “gummy” smiles. Dr. Doyon creates a customized treatment plan especially for you, based on your age, goals, and financial comfort level.

Porcelain Veneers

Imagine a whiter, more brilliant smile! Porcelain veneers provide a conservative approach to cosmetic dentistry that makes a dramatic difference in the appearance of your teeth. If you have chipped teeth, crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, or dull or stained teeth, veneers may be the perfect solution for you. After minimal tooth preparation, Dr. Doyon will skillfully bond and shape thin films of porcelain to your teeth, creating a straight, brilliant smile that enhances your appearance and your self esteem. You are only a couple of appointments away from having the smile you have always wanted!

Tooth Whitening – At Home

You can have the confidence that comes from a bright, white smile. If you are happy with the alignment and spacing of your teeth, a tooth-whitening procedure may be all that separates you from a dazzling smile. Tooth whitening is safe, effective, and long-lasting. Your custom home-whitening kit involves a special tray that is customized to fit over your teeth. You also receive prescription whitening gel, which is inserted into the tray before you wear it. Dr. Doyon gives you detailed instructions about how long you should wear the tray each day, and you should expect the entire home-whitening process to take between two and four weeks, leaving you with a dazzling smile. If you are thinking of other cosmetic improvements, such as crowns and porcelain veneers or about replacing old, discolored fillings, consider whitening your teeth first. Any future restorations will be matched to your whitened teeth, giving you fantastic results.

Porcelain Bridges

When teeth are missing, your smile undergoes significant changes. Missing teeth cause you to chew differently and may cause mouth pain. Additionally, as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps and spaces form that only make the situation worse. A porcelain bridge, custom designed by Dr. Doyon, keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Bridges are anchored to existing teeth or crowns on either side of the missing tooth. They are semi-permanent, meaning they can only be affixed or removed by a dentist and are a long-term restorative solution to your damaged smile.

Porcelain Crowns

You can erase years of wear and tear with porcelain crowns. Sometimes called “caps,” porcelain crowns are customized for you, covering broken, cracked, or discolored teeth. Crowns are a durable, strong, long-lasting method of enhancing both the look and functionality of your smile. After some preparation of the tooth or teeth that will receive the crown(s), Dr. Doyon will position a custom-milled, lifelike porcelain crown over your damaged tooth, restoring and rejuvenating your oral health.

Tooth-colored Fillings

When the decay has been taken out of the tooth, it is replaced with “filling” material. In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth. However, with advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings, resulting in a brighter, whiter smile.

Bonding

Bonding refers to the placement of tooth-colored resin to correct chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth, and in some cases, spaces between teeth. Bonding is generally considered more conservative than veneers or other cosmetic dentistry procedures. The benefits of bonding include the ability to maintain the natural structure of the tooth and the ability to color and sculpt the resin to create natural looking teeth. Like a natural tooth, the resin may stain with the use of coffee or other staining foods.

Gum Contouring

Do you see a lot of your gum tissue when you smile? Many people with “gummy” smiles do not know that there are treatments available to cosmetically enhance the look of your gums. Dr. Doyon can re-contour the appearance of your gum tissue. With the addition of beautiful porcelain veneers, your gummy smile disappears, revealing a bright, youthful smile that looks natural and proportioned. The entire process takes just a few visits, and because of advancements in cosmetic techniques, your comfort is assured. Call Tory Hill Dental, and begin transforming your smile today!
